Bunkhouse Boats are all about freedom; freedom to explore, freedom to customize, and freedom to change things as your dreams expand.  We designed a simple, tough, handsome, and seaworthy blank slate, leaving the fun decisions to you.

Our first decision relating to freedom was easy; outboard power.  Some might be into skiing or doing the Great Loop, others might explore waterway nooks and crannies and have no interest in getting on plane, and all will want to update their chosen power eventually.

We carried this freedom into the cabin by minimizing built-in components.  This allows flexibility and enhances serviceability.  We also retained opportunities for securing removable components directly to the aluminum hull, so everything stays in place. If you choose to let us furnish your boat, our planned modular components can be removed to transform a fully equipped voyager to a spacious floating party boat in minutes.

We maximized the ability to utilize rapidly developing technology. We’ll save a lot of words here by encouraging you to visit the websites of Xantrex (solar), EcoFlow (Wave 2 air conditioner/heater), Bluetti (lithium power stations), Fogatti (tankless water heaters), their competitors, and a host of drawer style and top load 12-volt refrigerator/freezers. Most of these items are portable, so when not needed on your boat you can take them off to save space and weight, and you can use them somewhere else!

And finally, we ditched built-in AC (alternating current) power, with its associated expense, complications, and risk.  Your portable power station will have AC outlets for the few items that don’t have good 12-volt options, and there’s a lot of roof waiting for more flexible solar panels to find the solar wattage/battery capacity balance that suits you.  As one admirer exclaimed, “This is the future!”

We considered every detail, debated, improved, and innovated until we were able to high five and move on to the next topic. The result is an overall design and classic fastback roofline that turns heads on the water and triggers conversations at the marina, because form truly does follow function. We know of no boat like it, and with five spacious sleeping spaces, there’s no need to draw straws at bedtime.  This feature, in such a compact footprint, earned the boat its humble and understated name, the Bunkhouse.
